The Troy Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Police Officer. Applications will be kept on file for one (1) year. There are currently two (2) open positions at this time and this job posting will remain open until the positions are filled. The positions are grant funded and will be for a minimum of four years.
The positions include the following pay and benefits:
- Starting Salary: $43,222 per year (The current hourly rate is $20.78 and a union contract will be negotiated soon for the new contract beginning July 1, 2025)

- 12 paid holidays
- 15 days of vacation
- 12 days of sick leave per year
Interested applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Must be a citizen of the United States;
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
- Not have any felony convictions;
- Be of good moral character, as determined by a background investigation;
- Be a high school graduate or equivalent;
- Possess or be eligible for a valid Montana driver’s license; and
- Must be located in or near Troy, Montana.
*Certification by the Montana Public Safety Officers Standards and Training Council (POST) preferred*
