Montana Gov 20 Tournament

The Helena Police Department and the Helena Police Protective Association (HPPA), which represents and supports local police officers and support staff within the Helena Police Department, are excited to host and sponsor this year’s annual Governor’s 20 Law Enforcement Duty Pistol Shooting Competition & Training event—a multi-day shooting competition, training event, and fundraiser open to current and retired law enforcement officers from across Montana. The event will be held August 13-15, 2026.

Network:

Come network with firearms instructors, armorers, tactical officers, and industry professionals from around the state in the ongoing discussion about current and future best practices related to duty weapons and associated training.
Compete:

Bring your past, present, or future duty gun and put your training and experience up against the historic NRA PPC course of fire. Factory Irons, Factory Optics, and “Enhanced” Duty Gun categories available. Challenging side events incorporating speed and moving targets are available. Top 20 LE shooters are recognized by the Governor.
Train:

Once registered for the event, you will be eligible to attend free trainings provided by Archway Defense, including Low Power Variable Optic Patrol Rifle Use and MRDS Pistol Training for Duty Use. An opportunity for LEOSA/HR218 (retired LE concealed carry) re-certification is also available at the HPD range on August 13th.
Celebrate:

Stay for the awards banquet and generous door prizes all while helping raise money for a great cause, the Mason Moore Foundation. This foundation was set up when Broadwater County Deputy Mason Moore was killed in the line of duty on May 16, 2017. The foundation provides grants to local law enforcement agencies for programs or special equipment which may not be available through the standard governmental funding processes. Saturday is a family friendly event with a significant others match and banquet.
